FIREFIGHTERS were called out to tackle a gorse blaze on Ruabon Mountain.
North Wales Fire and Rescue Service received a call just after 5pm on Saturday reporting the incident at Newtown Woods, which a spokesman said is high on the mountain.
One crew from Johnstown and another from Llangollen attended the scene and remained there for several hours, before having to stand down due to loss of light.
A spokesman told the Leader the crews will return to the scene in the morning.
