AN ACTOR has spoken of his pleasure about performing in a play that asks can you ever get away with the perfect crime?

Tom Chambers stars in the classic thriller, Dial M for Murder, which heads to Flintshire’s Theatr Clwyd later next month.

In an exclusive chat with the Leader, Tom said: “I have not been this excited about a play in 22 years. The play is just so well written that its very easy to bring the words life, it all just flows really well, and the audience have been very supportive of the shows so far.

“I really enjoy the idea of the audience being a fly on the wall in this take on the classic whodunnit, it’s really more of a why-dunnit. In an age of programmes like Killing Eve and Line of Duty, these kinds of shows have got everyone gripped and guessing.”

Chambers stars as the charismatic and manipulative Tony Wendice, a jaded ex-tennis pro who has given it all up for his wife Margot, played by Samantha Womack, best known for her role in BBC EastEnders.

When he discovers she has been unfaithful his mind turns to revenge and the pursuit of the ‘perfect crime’.

Made famous by Alfred Hitchcock’s world-renowned film of 1950, the iconic Dial M for Murder will leave you spellbound as Tony becomes more tangled in the web of his own making.

The production also features Christopher Harper in the dual roles of Captain Lesgate and Inspector Hubbard and Michael Salami as Max Halliday, Margot’s lover this ultimate masterclass in suspense is guaranteed to entwine you with its spine-chilling twists and turns. Dial M for Murder is the definitive seat-gripping drama that is not to be missed.

Dial M for Murder comes to Theatr Clwyd on Monday, May 25 and will run until Saturday, May 30.
