The planned opening date of a new frozen food superstore has been revealed.

The Food Warehouse, formed in 2014 and part of the national retailer Iceland, is set to open in Flint, on the Flintshire Retail Park, in October.

A spokesman said: "I can confirm that the current opening date for this store will be 13/10/2020 considering everything goes to plan."

The Leader previously reported the news of the brands forthcoming arrival in Flint – alongside major retailers Sports Direct and Home Bargains.

A standard Iceland branch exists currently in the town on Flint’s Church Street – as well as stores in nearby Buckley, Holywell, Mold and Shotton.

Also in Flintshire, the Food Warehouse brand recently opened a store in Mold on October 1 that was met with dozens of positive reviews by the public.

Before Mold, the nearest Food Warehouse outlet was based in Wrexham’s Island Green Shopping Centre.

At present, no dates have been confirmed for the opening of Home Bargains.
