A WREXHAM girl will go the extra mile this month to help those less fortunate.

Casey-Rae Sharp-Ratcliffe, 8, has never had her hair cut more an half an inch and this month she will be donating 20 inches to charity.

Mum Zoe told the Leader that her daughter has additional needs and finds change difficult, so this event will be a 'huge challenge' for her.

She said: "She finds change difficult so other than half an inch, she's never had her haircut.

The Leader:

"It was all her idea. My best friend lost her hair due to treatment and when she lost her hair my little girl said she had lots of hair and she can share it.

"She does find change very difficult so this is a major thing for her, it will be a huge challenge."

Casey-Rae will donate 20inches of her hair to the Little Princess Trust on January 27 at her school.

She also aims to raise funds which will be split between her school Rhosymedre Community Primary School, as they have been 'very supportive of her', and also the Veterans Foundation.

The Leader:

Zoe said she chose the charity because her grandfather is a veteran.

She said: "I was really proud of her, that she wants to help people and she's willing to do something that she finds quite challenging.

"She wants to do it because it is benefitting someone else.

"Her local hairdresser is also giving up her day off to do it."
