THE Virtual Dementia Tour Bus will be returning to Wrexham from February 18.
The tour was invented 20 years ago and allows individuals with a ‘healthy brain’ to experience what dementia might be like.
It gives people an opportunity to walk in the world of people living with dementia - and then change the environment and their practice to potentially allow people with dementia to stay at home longer and improve their care.
Cllr Joan Lowe, lead member for health and adult social care, said: “The Dementia Bus is unique as it gives you the chance to walk in the shoes of someone living with dementia, so you can start to understand the many different issues they face every day.
The bus will be at the following locations:
- February 18 – Bangor-On-Dee Village Hall, Wrexham, LL13 0BY
- February 19 – Pendine Park Care Organisation, Wrexham, LL13 7YW
- February 20 – Pheonix Homecare and Support, Wrexham, LL11 4YL
- February 21 – Enterprise Hub (Old Iceland), Wrexham LL11 1AT
