A MOTHER from Wrexham has spoken of her joy in handing over an incredible £12,500 to the hospital that treated her son’s stage four cancer.

Delisa Edwards, from Llay, donated the large sum of money to the Alder Hey Children’s Hospital in Liverpool on December 12, where her son Kieran was being treated for his Hodgkin lymphoma cancer.

Mrs Edwards arranged a jammed-packed fundraising event for the children’s hospital on Saturday, November 9, at the Llay Royal British Legion, which also saw Kieran celebrating his 16th birthday.

She said: “It was an honour to raise the money for such a great charity and it was an incredible feeling to be giving such an amazing amount.

“It’s all about giving back to those who don’t get enough credit for what they do.

“The donation allowed us to show our appreciation for all that they’ve done for not only Kieran but also for his family too.”

Alongside the donation handover at Alder Hey, teenager Kieran also celebrated finishing his last intensive chemotherapy treatment by ringing the bell in front on his supportive family.
