A PENSIONER who died following a house fire in Mancot has been named.

Verona Louise Brindley, 80, was named as the lady who lost her life following a fire at her home in Prince William Gardens, Mancot on Saturday, November 16.

North Wales Fire and rescue Service crews from Deeside and Buckley were called to the property at 8.46pm on Friday, November 15.

Mrs Brindley, a retired nurse, was taken to hospital by ambulance suffering from burns but died in Whiston Hospital due to multi-organ failure due to her burns.

John Gittins, the senior coroner for North Wales east and central, deferred the full inquest to a date yet to be confirmed in the spring of 2020 pending the completion of a fire investigation report.
