A MOTORIST was arrested following a serious collision in Wrexham.
Emergency services were alerted to the incident, which happened on the B5605 in Pentre, shortly after midnight on Sunday.
A spokesman for North Wales Police confirmed to the Leader on Monday that the collision involved a Mini and a Peugeot.
The Mini driver was arrested for failing a breath drugs swipe and suspicion of dangerous driving but has since been released under investigation, the spokesman added.
A spokesman for The Welsh Ambulance Service said: “We received a call at 12.43am to a two-vehicle road traffic collision on the B5605.
"One adult woman was conveyed to Wrexham Maelor Hospital, and one adult male was treated at the scene."
North Wales Fire and Rescue confirmed it sent one fire engine from Johnstown to the scene as one of the vehicles was ablaze following the collision.
