A woman has been hospitalised following a serious collision in Wrexham.

The incident occurred at approximately midnight on December 1 on the B5605 in Rhosymedre.

The road was closed for over two hours as emergency services dealt with the incident.

A spokesman for The Welsh Ambulance Service said: 

“We received a call at 12.43am to a two-vehicle road traffic collision on the B5605 at Rhosymedre.

"One adult woman was conveyed to Wrexham Maelor Hospital, and one adult male was treated at the scene."

North Wales Fire and Rescue confirmed it sent one fire engine from Johnstown to the scene as one of the vehicles set ablaze following the collision.
