THIEVES stole a van, car keys and a wallet from a Flintshire property.

The incident took place on Clayton Road in Mold some time overnight on Thursday.

Despite no signs of forced entry, the thieves managed to take the keys to a Merc - which they were unsuccessful in stealing - and the keys to a van, which was subsequently stolen.

As well as this, a wallet was also taken.

The victim of the theft, Barry Williams, told the Leader how he is dumbfounded as to how the thieves gained access to the items.

He said: "There is no sign of forcible entry whatsoever, so whether they used some kind of instrument to grab the items through the letter box I don't know.

"Even the officers who responded were puzzled as we just don't know how they've got in.

"They also tried to nick another van parked on my drive but thankfully they weren't able to.

"I'm appealing to anyone in the area who has CCTV to review it and send anything they have which could help with the police investigation to the police."

A North Wales Police spokesman confirmed a call received at 6.46am on Thursday reporting a burglary at a property on Clayton Road, Mold.
