ART enthusiasts braved the elements to see the opening of a new exhibition in Llangollen.

The Leader reported recently how Karl Young's Oak Street Gallery and several shops planned to stay open late to coincide with the launch of the exhibition on November 9.

In spite of the snowy conditions on the day and the ensuing wet evening, many brave souls ventured out to enjoy the hospitality of Oak Street Gallery.

Holidaymakers and locals alike enjoyed a glass of Prosecco at Oak Street Gallery, mulled wine at Gwalia Ceramics and even live music from talented young pianist, Louis Faux, at Oak Street Coffee.

Organisers said the brand new Shop Around the Corner and Pretty Vintage Tea Room were also open for business to create an exciting, whole street event.

The exhibition features works by North Shropshire artist Jon Young with a stunning array of landscapes, seascapes and portraits.

Mr Young’s “Winter Exhibition” continues at Oak Street Gallery until November 25 from 10am to 5pm each day and 10am – 4pm on Sundays.

He will be in residence on the weekend of November 23 and 24.
