EMPLOYEES of a North Wales housing developer have opened a pop-up shop as part of a Christmas appeal in aid of supported living residents.

ClwydAlyn staff have launched the shop at its Flint cafe - the Old Court House - to raise money so that people in supported living can have the sort of Christmas many of us have become accustomed to.

The shop, selling anything and everything, is open until November 15 - between 9am and 3.30pm Monday to Friday and 9am and 1.30pm on Saturdays.

The items on sale have all been generously donated by members of the public after the employees launched an appeal for unwanted items through social media and handing out flyers on the streets of Flint.

ClwyAlyn's Supported Living Projects provide safe accommodation and support for people who have become homeless. Support staff work to help them to deal with the issues that caused them to become homeless and to develop skills that will help them to maintain their own accommodation in the future.

Chiefly organising the scheme are ClwydAlyn's Pam Foulkes and Gina Taylor.

Gina said: "The money we raise will go towards supported living schemes in Flintshire so they can have a lovely Christmas.

"Our aim is to simply make this Christmas - something many of us take for granted - a special one for our residents - as some have never had this.

"I'd like to extend a special thanks to Pam Foulkes (Llys Emlyn Williams, Holywell ) Georgina Taylor (Greenbank Villas, Flint ) Sue Richards, Rhys Hughes (Quay Project Greenfield), and also Kath Auld who kindly volunteers in every fundraising event that we do."
