TECHNIQUEST Glyndwr (TQG) has announced it has been nominated for not one, but two national awards.

TQG has reached the final for the two honours with the winners announced on November 11 at the Welsh Hospitality Awards.

Nominated for both 'family venue of the year' and 'best entertainment team' for 2019, the ceremony in Cardiff next month at the Exchange Hotel will be the venue for the winners to pick up their gong.

Team member at TQG are thrilled with both nominations, having worked so hard over the past year with the likes of toddler days, astronomy club, annual pass pvents and the usual 65+ exhibits and thrilling live science shows making it a day-out to remember.

2019 has marked more than 1,000,000 visitors to the centre since opening in 2003 whilst it's the centre's final year at the current location before moving to Wrexham town centre in 2020.

A spokesman for TQG said: "We're especially pleased for our staff who have been nominated for the 'best entertainment team' award.

"Our staff work incredibly hard to make your experience the best it possibly can be, and to have them recognised for this is a real honour."

TQG centre manager Scot Owen said: "It's a real honour to be nominated for one award, but to be nominated for two is incredible.

"We're over the moon to be recognised for both honours, but in particular one that acknowledges our staff staff's hard work and commitment to creating the best experience possible for our visitors.

"We're nominated among some fantastic venues and no matter the result are proud to be named alongside some prestigious names in our industry."
