A NIGHT which put the spotlight on local talent has been hailed a ‘huge success’ by organisers.

The Rent and Debt show, in association with The Ship Inn Greenfield, put on the show to give a platform to promote local musicians and their original material.

Darren Rush, event organiser, said: “It was a great night, and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves.

"We had five acts confirmed ahead of the event but seven played in total. Giving local musicians a platform was really important and we all agree it has been a huge success.

“We had a really positive night and we have lots of plans moving forward as we are looking to run a similar event in the future.”

Acts included Owen Chamberlain, Tom Collins, Daniel Williamson, Daniel Mahon, Cal Roberts, Sean Seery and Dan Chad.

Darren also told the Leader how the event aimed to showcase Bagillt Community Centre as a local venue.

The event was been created so that landlords, publicans, pub managers and event organisers can see the talent of local musicians firsthand before they decide to make any bookings for their respective venues.
