THERE is no doubt that, from a television viewing point, this is my favourite time of the year.

Loads of new dramas are screened as the nights draw in and the soaps build up to their Christmas storylines.

But at the top of all that, it’s Strictly time!

I LOVE it but I have to admit I did have some reservations this time, when I basically did not have a clue as to who many of the ‘celebrities’ were.

One didn’t even make it to the first show, with Made In Chelsea star Jamie Laing suffering a foot injury.

Don’t get me wrong, I am sorry to hear he is hurt and hope he makes a speedy recovery but that has meant he has been replaced by former Emmerdale actor Kelvin Fletcher.

In the words of judge Craig Revell Horwood, A-MAZ-ING!

His samba was literally jaw dropping. Despite the fact he is a well built man he managed to embrace both his masculine and feminine sides and produce one of Strictly’s most memorable moments.

As this week was week two, we had to say goodbye to our first couple.

I have long been a fan of Olympic gold medallist rower James Cracknell and fair play to him for taking himself out of his comfort zone but his dancing was dreadful. In week one he looked awkward and his jive this week was lacking the all important kicks and flicks

He and his partner Luba were beaten in the dance off by another sportsman, goalkeeper David James, who really gave a very lack lustre paso doble.

For once the British voting public have been kind and sensible and actually voted for the better dancers.

This week is movie week, and I for one can’t wait.
