A MAN has been told to pay the rest of a compensation figure previously agreed after he smashed the fire door of a Wrexham club.
Kieron Jones was spotted at the Penny Black in Abbot Street throwing a barstool through the glass door in the early hours of November 5 last year. The window smashed and the police were called.
Prosecutor Helen Tench told North East Wales Magistrates’ Court that when he was arrested Jones agreed to pay the cost of the damage worth £156, but there was still £50 outstanding and he was in breach of a conditional caution.
The defendant also failed to attend court and appeared in custody after a warrant was issued for his arrest.
Emma Simoes, defending, told the court Jones had made an effort to pay his compensation.
“He works as a self-contracted builder and his employer has been ill since May so he has not had any income,” said the solicitor.
Jones, 23, of Derby Road, Brynteg admitted criminal damage.
Magistrates fined Jones £40, told him to pay the remainder of the compensation as well as a victim surcharge of £32.
