NORTH Wales Police is urging motorists to consider the 'life changing' impacts of driving under the influence.
Sgt Katie Newby, of the South Flintshire policing team, told the Leader that they are stopping more people who are driving under the influence of drugs.
She said: "We are finding that we are dealing more and more with people being stopped and tests are coming back positive for cannabis, cocaine and heroin in their system.
"That is just as dangerous as getting into a car after drinking alcohol and it stays in your system for a lot longer.
"The impacts are life changing, it can cause you to have collisions.
"People may think that they smoke a bit of weed and they will be okay, but they have got their kids in the car with them. It's putting them at risk too."
Anyone with information or concerns can contact North Wales Police on 101 or via the live webchat service.
