A HOAX caller has been warned he will face custody unless he stops ringing the police and emergency services.
Appearing at North East Wales Magistrates’ Court, Stephen Whiston, 47, admitted breaching the terms of a Community Protection Notice, after he bombarded the emergency services with abusive calls and threats to kill himself.
Justin Espie, prosecuting, said Whiston, of White Lion Close, Summerhill, called police and ambulance “multiple times” between August 13 and August 16 and continued to call them even after they had attended his address.
He regularly threatened to commit suicide and was also abusive to operators, added Mr Espie.
Andy Holliday, defending, said Whiston was suffering the affects of alcohol and drug abuse.
Chair of the bench, Michael Jones, agreed to make Whiston the subject of a more serious Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO) preventing him from calling the emergency services unless it is a genuine emergency.
He was also fined £95 and ordered to pay costs of £85 and a victim surcharge of £32.
