AN ENVIRONMENTAL Group in Wrexham has received a financial boost.

Caia Park Environmental Group was awarded £500 by the People’s Health Trust after applying for funding earlier this year.

The People’s Health Trust gives funding to not for profit organisations or groups that support people to create or shape local projects that will help their community or neighbourhood to become even better.

The funding has added to Caia Park Environmental Group’s cause for celebration in 2019, after they reached the 20th anniversary of the group’s creation back in April.

Dorothy Mitchell, one of the founders of the group said: “We are very grateful to the People’s Health Trust for awarding the Caia Park Environmental Group with £500.

“It is a great help to us, especially as this is the 20th anniversary year, which helps it to be all the more special, so we wish to thank them for that.

“The money was spent on this years annual Caia Park Environmental Group open fun day, which was open for everyone to attend, and the money helped to make the day such a success.

“It was very well attended and brought a good community atmosphere to the event.”
