CONCERNS have been raised from a number of residents in Wrexham regarding reports of a suspicious looking woman who has been knocking on doors on July 31.

A number of residents within the Johnstown area have documented a range of incidents involving this mysterious woman via Facebook, with one saying that ‘she was nosing inside someone’s house’ and that she was extremely ‘persistent’.

Reports of the woman, who was last seen carrying a leopard print umbrella, and who has been asking residents if they wanted to purchase any steak.

One worried resident stated via Facebook that despite the offer of the sale of meat, the woman in question did not have any with her to exchange and simply moved onto the next house.

A spokesman for Wrexham Council said: “There are obvious health concerns with the door-to-door sale of food, and any such sellers would need be registered with the local authority.

“We would advise any members of the public approached by door-to-door food sellers whom they believe to be suspect to politely decline any offers or products, or to simply close the door.

“We would also advise that they report any such concerns to us by calling on 01978 292000.”
