A MAN has been seriously injured following an assault in Wrexham town centre during the early hours of Sunday morning.
North Wales Police confirm they were called around 1.30am to reports of a man having been found unconscious on College Street prior to the steps leading up to St Giles’ Church.
Emergency services attended which included members of the Red Cross Team, who were nearby, administering first aid.
Detective Inspector Eleri Thomas said: “The man, who is aged in his 30’s and local to the area, was taken to the Wrexham Maelor Hospital by Ambulance with serious injuries. He has since been transferred to The Royal University Hospital in Stoke where he is described as having life-threatening injuries.
“Three local males and one female have been arrested in connection with this incident and enquiries are ongoing”.
“I would ask that anybody who may have witnessed this disturbance and who may have information that is crucial to our investigation to contact the North Wales Police control room on 101 quoting incident number X111342.”
