A SPEAKER giving a planned talk in Wrexham about one of the world's most infamous serial killers has had the event cancelled and his recently released book taken off the shelves.

Paul Harrison, who is described as being an experienced criminal profiler, was due to talk at an event called ‘Lets Talk – Ted Bundy’ at William Aston Hall, on the Thursday, October 10, but the show has been cancelled at the request of the organiser.

VMS Live, who manage all events that take place at the venue at Wrexham Glyndwr University, said all customers would be contacted and refunds would be processed.

A spokesman said: "The event ‘Lets Talk – Ted Bundy’ due to take place at the William Aston Hall, Wrexham on the Thursday 10th October 2019 has been cancelled at the request of the event organiser. All customers have been contacted and refunds have been processed."

Urbane Publications, who published Mr Harrison's most recent book - Mind Games - have issued a statement on its website confirming the book would be withdrawn from sale with immediate effect.

The statement read: "You may have seen the article on the Sun website (12th July) calling into question the veracity of Paul Harrison’s claim to be an experienced criminal profiler.

"Like everyone who worked with Paul Harrison, the attendees to his talks and the readers of his books, we are very concerned by these revelations and are currently seeking clarification before deciding what further action to take.

"However, with immediate effect we will be withdrawing Mind Games from sale and endeavouring to remove all stock and details from every relevant retail channel. We will also be donating any profits we have secured thus far from the sales of Mind Games to charities that help and support victims of violent crime."

Mr Harrison has not been available to comment on the story and has withdrawn all of his social media accounts and access to his personal website.
