'Rock the Castle' brought the curtain down on a jam-packed week of events.

Flint Festival, which ran from July 6 to 14, saw a wide array of events take place in the town for families to enjoy.

During the week, Ysgol Gwynedd hosted a talent show and there was a ‘big afternoon tea’ event on the town’s main shopping area, Church Street.

The festival culminated this weekend with hundreds of people setting up at Flint Castle for the ‘Rock the Castle’ night, where local musicians played while food and drinks was served.

Cllr Michelle Perfect said it is the community of Flint coming together that makes the festival truly spectacular.

She said: “The festival has gotten bigger and better each year and I can't believe one little idea I had has grown to this scale. It is great to see the residents of Flint engaging with each other and enjoying themselves. I think the community as a whole is just awesome and the response has been phenomenal.

“Everyone manning a stall or serving food and drinks at the events is doing so as volunteers and all funds raised will go back into the local community and spread equally to help organisations like the RNLI, cadet squad, football clubs and also be put aside to put towards the following years event.

“We are hoping to build on this success next year and host an event each day of the Flint Festival week.”
