A FLINTSHIRE community is gearing up for its annual summer carnival.
Hawarden Carnival takes place this coming Saturday and promises to be as joyous an occasion as ever.
The event is a highlight in the community's calendar and takes place on Gladstone playing fields between 12pm and 5pm.
This year will see a variety of activities, stalls and refreshments on offer.
These include a licensed bar, live music, a fun fair, kids football tournament, artisan traders, hot food, gymnastic displays, tennis coaching and more.
There will be a stage set up which will play host to the various live music performers and other entertainment.
The event will also see the eagerly awaited judging of the scarecrow competition - one of the highlights of the carnival.
The event is free to attend is one not to be missed.
