A WREXHAM primary school has held a summer open evening to prospective new recruits.

Ysgol Rhiwabon held the event on Thursday, June 27, say the level of interested primary school parents was very high, but the highlights of the evening were the numerous Parents and Grandparents who were being shown around the school but the Year 6 pupils eager to show what they had done and where they had been during their three day transition day programme.

Jamie Forman, Assistant Headteacher and Head of Transition, gave a presentation during the evening with its emphasis on the links to the local primary schools, hard work and examples of all the work achieved during the three days of transition.

Mrs Ferron-Evans, Headteacher, said: "I am really pleased with how our Celebration Evening went.

"The level of interest shown in our school has been fantastic and I now looked forward to meeting our entire new intake again.

"The website and app. reflect the historic links we have to the area and I’ve used this to show our strong community focus and how successful our students have been over time.

"I was delighted to be able to speak to so many parents and grandparents face to face during the evening; it really was a pleasure and I would like to thank everyone for their extremely positive comments on the school."

The Open Evening was well attended by prospective Parents and reflects the increasing interest in the historic school.
