A SEX offender who failed to register with the police as being of no fixed abode has been jailed.

Michael Andrzej Denkiewicz, 36, admitted that between April 1 and May 25 he was not living at his previous registered address in Hugmore Lane in Wrexham.

That put him in breach of a suspended prison sentence and he received a total of 26 weeks imprisonment.

Prosecutor Justin Espie said Denkiewicz had been convicted of sex assaults against children under the age of 13 and was on the police sex offender register until March 2022.

It became clear he was not living at his registered address.

Someone who was of no fixed abode was required to report to the police weekly but he had failed to do so.

Denkiewicz had served the equivalent of a month in custody on remand and accepted that he needed to give the notification requirements greater priority.

A pre-sentence report said there was no alternative to custody in his case.
