A FLINTSHIRE schoolgirl was fortunate to escape serious injury following a hit and run last Wednesday in Hawarden.
North Wales Police have appealed for anyone who witnessed the collision, which took place at around 3.30pm at the traffic lights by Hawarden High School, to contact them.
Police said a black 4x4 or people carrier collided with the 13-year-old girl on Wednesday, June 12, and although the driver initially stopped, then proceeded to drive off.

A police spokesman said: "Fortunately the child was not seriously hurt."
