A CELEBRATION of wildlife is to take place this weekend.
Wildlife Trusts across the UK are offering a huge range of' nature-tastic' events during this year’s Big Wild Weekend, which runs from June 15 to 16.
The special weekend marks the middle of 30 Days Wild, The Wildlife Trusts’ annual nature challenge that dares people to do something wild every day in June.
This year is a record-breaker with more than 1,200 people across North Wales having signed up to take part.
The North Wales Wildlife Trust are marking the weekend with a range of guided walks and nature themed activities that are taking place right across the region, from Wrexham to Anglesey.
Whether it is a long ramble through a nature reserve, a brisk stroll along a wildlife-rich headland or a relaxing mindfulness walk in the woods – there is something for everyone.
North Wales Wildlife Trusts’ People and Wildlife manager Chris Baker said: “It’s fantastic to see that participation in 30 Days Wild has grown again across North Wales this year and we’re looking forward to inspiring even more ‘random acts of wildness’ through our various events this weekend.
"If you can’t make it though then don’t worry, we run events and activities year round – simply visit the ‘Events’ page of the North Wales Wildlife Trust (www.northwaleswildlifetrust.org.uk/events) and let us help you stay wild all year.”
