PARENTS who drop off their children for football and then stop off in a narrow road are creating dangerous parking problems, a Wrexham community leader claims.
Cllr Elane Roberts told Offa Community Council that something had to be done about parking on Homestead Lane opposite Ysgol Clywedog in Bryn Offa.
She said Homestead Lane was very narrow and parents were parking on both sides after dropping off their children, leaving a very narrow stretch of highway left for other cars to get past.
“It is very dangerous with children coming from behind cars and also those in cars trying to get past,” she said
Cllr Sarah Roberts supported her and added that vehicles coming out of a bend were suddenly confronted by the parked cars.
She agreed something had to be done about the problem,
Cllr John Williams said the problem only occurred during the football season and police community support officers did monitor the situation from time to time.
However, he agreed with community council colleagues that they should contact Wrexham Council and the police to voice concerns about the issue.
