A FLINTSHIRE theatre group is to perform four nights of its new comedy play.

Buckley Theatr Club is to present 'Pull The Other One', a play by Norman Robbins.

The play revolves around Jack Perkins, a hardworking northern lad, with his good friend Harry, an adoring wife Millie and a fearsome mother in law, Boadicea.

After accidentally bumping his car into local artist Lucy Brown, Jack reluctantly agrees to pose nude so that Lucy can enter the local art competition.

In the meantime Boadicea has opened a letter from Jack's good friend Ashley. Thinking Ashley is a woman, Boadicea is on the warpath. When Ashley turns up at the Perkins house, events descend into chaos for Jack and his friends.

The play will run from June 19 to June 22 at the club's base at Hawkesbury Little Theatre, with doors opening at 7.30pm.

Tickets can be bought from Sheila Williams Jewellers based in Buckley precinct, priced at £8.50 for adults and £7.50 for concessions.

Cathy Mayers-Jones, who plays Boadicea, said: "Rehearsals are going well and the set looks amazing. What we now need is you, we'd love to perform to 4 full houses, that would be absolutely amazing."

With the club - a registered charity for 50 years - having done about £20,000 of improvements in the last three years - including lighting and structural works - the club is keen to see bigger audiences as well as potential new cast members.

Cathy added: "Ticket sales have been slow so far, please come along and watch this play.

"It's so funny and we've worked so hard to put it on. We want as many people to see it as possible. It's not panto, but this particular play is a farce and is so so funny, please come and watch it and keep out beautiful little theatre going.

"We ask that in the next couple of days, people purchase tickets for this fantastic play. We need your support."
