A POPULAR summertime event is returning to a world heritage site.
Underneath the Arches is now in its eighth year, the open-air concert held at the foot of the World Heritage Site, Pontcysyllte Aqueduct.
Organisers are looking to put on its biggest show to date after the annual event was also named the Best Visitor Event (under 7,500) at the 2017 North Wales Tourism Awards as well as the second best in the whole of Wales (coming second only to the Champion’s league final at the Millennium Stadium) so tickets will be in high demand for this hugely popular event.
This year's event takes place on Friday, July 12, from 7pm to 11pm.
Nestled under the towering 126ft pillars is the Bont playing field which will be transformed into a picnic in the park style evening.
Food and soft drinks will be available, whilst your own alcohol is permitted on-site, but limited.
Parking is free on the evening, but please note that there is a half-a-mile walk (downhill) from the car park and a half-a-mile(uphill) walk at the end of the evening. Shuttle buses will not be running this year.
Caution i also advised if you have a disability due to the uneven nature of the field and access may be difficult for some people. If you have any further questions about disabled access - please contact Wrexham Council's events team on 01978 292538.
