THERE will be entertainment for all ages at a free community event being staged in Wrexham next week.

The Rhosddu Park Fun Day, organised by the office of Ian Lucas MP in association with several local organisations, takes place on Tuesday, May 28 (12pm to 3pm).

A wide array of family-friendly attractions will be on offer, including a bouncy castle, treasure hunt and free refreshments, through the afternoon.

Hundreds of people are expected to attend the fun day, which has been a regular fixture in Rhosddu Park in recent years.

Mr Lucas, MP for Wrexham, said: “Our fun days take place every May and August and it is always a pleasure to see the community coming together and enjoying themselves in Rhosddu Park.

“A lot of local organisations work very hard to make the day a success and we’re always extremely grateful for their support.

“There really will be something to appeal to all ages so please come down on May 28 and enjoy what should be a wonderful afternoon.”

The park will be packed full of stalls and attractions. These will include a children’s craft stall, tennis activities, storytelling and a dog show, which begins at 1pm (you can enter your dog on the day for £1 and there will be prizes for the winners).

There will also be a performance from the Wrexham Singing Hands choir and a demonstration by Purple Puppy dog groomers. The local Spar, Tesco and Asda stores are providing free refreshments.

Other groups who have helped organise the day include the Salvation Army, AVOW, North Wales Police, St James’ Church, the Community Church, Methodist Chapel and Rhosddu Community Council.

The fun day runs from 12pm to 3pm and admission to the park, on Garden Road, is completely free.
