POLICE are renewing their appeal to trace antiques stolen from a property in Flintshire now a man has been sentenced for burglary.
Colin Cartlidge, 48, has been sentenced to 21 months imprisonment after he pleaded guilty at Mold Crown Court to stealing antiques between February 26 and 27 after breaking into the Hawarden home of an elderly couple when their property was empty.
At the time of the incident, the Leader reported that a large number of antiques and very identifiable items were stolen including several watches, a number of Liverpool FC and Armed Forces pin badges, a rose gold choker necklace inset with rubies dating back to the 1900s and various First World War memorabilia such as inscribed tobacco and snuff boxes and a brass timer for a WW1 bomb.
PC Catherine McHarrie, of North Wales Police, said: “We still have not found the numerous items that were stolen from the house including a large number of antiques and very identifiable items.
“We believe someone may still have the property or it may have been offered for sale.”
