A COUNCIL'S flagship business event is to celebrate its 13th year.

Flintshire in Business will launch its 2019 programme at a networking evening on Tuesday, May 14.

The scheme is one of the most important events of its kind in the region, attracting about 2,000 businesses every year.

It supports the business community in the county and the wider region, to promote their companies, to develop trading opportunities and to raise the profile of the area as a place to invest.

All local businesses are invited to come along and find out more about Flintshire in Business and the events happening in and around the county over the next year while enjoying canapes and cocktails at Soughton Hall in Northop.

Flintshire Business Awards, in association with AGS Security Systems, will also be launched and information about categories, how to enter and brand new Flintshire Business Awards website will be revealed on the night.

The ever popular awards ceremony will take place at Soughton Hall on October 18.

Flintshire Council’s leader, Councillor Ian Roberts, said: “Flintshire in Business is offering a number of events, organised with our partners, covering a range of interesting topics and supporting the economic development of our region.”

Councillor Derek Butler, cabinet member for economic development, said: “Flintshire in Business continues to grow from strength to strength, developing the programme and holding events throughout the year to encourage even more businesses to take part.

“I’d like to encourage everyone to come along to this year’s launch to find out what is happening over the next 12 months."
