A SENIOR Councillor has blasted fly-tippers and warned they will be pursued by the authority.
Cllr David A Bithell, Lead Member for the Environment and Transport issued the warning after a large amount of fly tipping was found by volunteers taking part in a litter pick in Pant.
The fly tipping, mainly concrete and wood, had been dumped rather than disposed of by a professional company or even taken to the household recycling centre.
Cllr Bithell said: “It’s a disgrace that people care so little for our environment and expect others to clear up after them. I have asked officers to investigate where this came from and as it looks easily identifiable.
"I imagine it won’t be long before someone will be hearing from us.”
As the lighter nights are now here and attention turns to DIY and garden improvements residents are reminded to plan how you will be getting rid of the rubbish that may be left as a result and if possible cost it into the final price if a professional company is needed.
