A MANHUNT was launched following a 'traumatic' armed robbery.

A spokesman for North Wales Police confirmed they were called to Church Street, Flint, following the incident at The Games Exchange at 1.55pm on April 3.

An appeal has been launched to find a man, described as 5ft 7ins tall and wearing a black balaclava, a green hoody, blue trainers and carrying what appeared to be a silver coloured hand gun.

The man threatened a female member of staff before making off on foot with cash from the shop.

DI Jane Burns said: "This was a traumatic experience for the shopkeeper and thankfully no one was harmed."

One onlooker, who did not want to be named, said: "It is a scary thought that someone could do that. We just saw all the police we didn’t see it happen which is the scary thing.

"How can someone do that, I hope the person involved is okay it must have been a scary time for them."

Carol Gardner, who works at Nightingale House Hospice, told the Leader that they did not see a thing until police were outside their store.

She said: "It's getting worse around here. We always have two people here when we are cashing up because you don't know what's going to happen. We've heard it was one person held up, that's even worse.

"At least with two people you stand a chance, but you don't stand a chance with one person against someone who is armed.

"We didn't see anything, we just saw police swarm the area and the boss went out to see what was going on."
