A STRING of boxing bouts will take place on Saturday night in aid of charity.

Amateur fighters will be pitted against each other at an Ultra White Collar Boxing (UWCB) fundraiser, at the Brymbo Enterprise Centre in Wrexham, on March 30 in aid of Cancer Research UK.

Former world champion kickboxing and licensed boxing coach Russ Williams, who has gyms in Wrexham and Caerwys, has been training the enthusiastic fighters over the last few months.

Those taking part range from bricklayers, models, prison officers shopkeepers and solicitors to bankers, and publicans

Russ said: "This group has raised £5,000 towards Cancer Research UK, making our total getting on towards £60,000 since we and the UWCB started the shows here in August 2015.

"The UWCB have now raised over £17 million with their shows throughout the UK."

If you fancy giving the sport a go, and taking part n the fudnraising, Russ says there will be plenty of opportunities coming up.

He added: "This year we will be doing boxing, kickboxing and MMA shows with the UWCB so anyone interested can get in touch with myself.

"Most of the people that train just do it for fitness and defence, and we now have new beginner courses starting this next week with special offers on."
