A WREXHAM man died after his car hit a parked lorry near Oswestry.
Garat Hannan, 32, of no fixed address, died after a collision on A5 layby adjacent to Bridleway Caravan Park Gobowen at 12.30am on March 20.
An inquest opening at Shirehall in Shrewsbury heard that Mr Hannan is thought to have been driving a white Vauxhall Mokka which went into the layby and collided with a stationary HGV.
Coroner John P Ellery adjourned the inquest pending a hearing at Shirehall
Mr Hannan’s family last week paid tribute to him in a statement issued through West Mercia Police.
The whole family would like to thank the emergency services for the care and respect they showed to Garat at his last moment.... Our hearts are broken our lives will never be the same again," they said.
"A bright light has gone out.....We'll never forget you Garat...We'll love and miss you forever."
