A PUB in Flint has raised just under £500 for charity after hosting a ladies darts night to remember a Flintshire foster carer who passed away several years ago.
The George & Dragon pub managed to raise a remarkable £442 for the North Wales Superkids charity from the event that commemorated Jean Harrison – who sadly passed away several years ago after having been a foster carer in the region for over a decade.
Gillian Duffy, Jean Harrison’s daughter, organised the successful event – in which her darts team won – and said afterwards:
“Thank you to everyone who attended, and a big thank you to Lynda Leigh who runs the pub. Thanks to everyone for being there and supporting us.”
The George & Dragon, who are currently completing work on a new beer garden, are set to host an anniversary party on Saturday, April 6 in appreciation of Lynda Leigh who has now been a licensee for 25 years.
