A CHIPPIE faces a try-ing time on Sunday after securing a mammoth order.
Staff at the Trawler Fish Bar in Johnstown are gearing up for a ruck of customers as they prepare over 150 meals for hungry rugby players attending a junior tournament at Rhos Rugby Club.
But the unusual order has not fazed owner Pauline Lewiecki who says in the past the takeaway has provided 100 fish and chip meals for a wedding at which the dessert came in the shape of an ice cream van.
"We're actually doing chips and sausages, not fish, for the children. There are three finals and we're doing 50 for the first match between Rhyl and Cobra Rugby Club at midday," outlined Pauline.
The servings continue with mega meals being cooked at 1.30pm and later at 3pm to cater for the youngsters after they have left the field at the rugby club's Penycae home.
"We've had orders like this before so it is not a first for us. I don't think we'll need to call extra staff in, but I think I will have to lend a hand in the kitchen," added the takeaway owner.
