FIREFIGHTERS were called out to extinguish a controlled blaze which had been left unattended.
North Wales Fire and Rescue Service received a call just after 11.15pm on Tuesday reporting a blaze at a location off Whalley's Way in Acrefair.
One crew from Johnstown attended the scene and used a hose reel jet to extinguish the flames.
A spokesman for the fire and rescue service told the Leader the blaze was a controlled burning within the drum of a washing machine which had been left unattended.
The damage was confined to the contents of the drum.
