A WREXHAM hospice has received a £1,500 donation.

North Wales Freemasons have donated £1,500 to Nightingale House in memory of Joe Caswell.

Many years ago, Mr Caswell, a member of Pegasus Lodge, who meet in Caergwrle, established the ’50 Club’ prize draw, with the aim of raising money to support local charities.

Unfortunately, a few years ago, Joe died at Nightingale House but the care he received left a lasting impression on all the members of Pegasus Lodge.

In memory of Mr Caswell, the 50 club was renamed the ‘Pegasus Joe Caswell 50 Club’ and has continued under the coordination of longstanding member, Trevor Lloyd Jones.

It was unanimously decided to donate the money raised to Nightingale House, as a token of their appreciation for all the support that Mr Caswell received at the hospice and in memory of a well-respected member who is sadly missed by all.

Pegasus Lodge member Chris Lloyd Jones, said: “Nightingale House is a wonderful hospice in the heart of our community. We remember Joe as we present our donation today and once again, sincerely thank all the staff for the care and support Joe received.
