LUCKY school pupils were given the chance to get up close and personal with birds of prey.
Pupils at Drury Primary School have been learning all about owls, and were joined in class on Monday by owls from the North Wales Owl Sanctuary in Corwen.
Representatives from the sanctuary brought in two of their rescue owls so that the children could learn about the different species of owls, their habitats, diet and behaviour. Mark Biltcliffe, headteacher, said: "The children, from ages three to eleven, were fascinated to hear all about these amazing birds and to be able to see them close up.
"We have been inviting a number of outside organisations into school and are pleased to raise awareness of the amazing work local charities do."
