PARENTS in Flintshire are urging caution following reports of suspicious activity in the area.
Two reports involve a man allegedly calling to children to come over to his vehicle in Bagillt and Flint areas.
The first incident occurred on the afternoon of Saturday, February 2, in the Victoria Road area of Bagillt when a male sounded his horn and shouted to two young girls to come over to his car.
The second instance happened last Friday evening between Ffordd Llwelyn and Ffordd Glyndaw in Flint, close to St Richard Gwyn High school, when a man gestured to three children to come over to his vehicle.
A parent of one of the children concerned said: “He waved them over, primarily through hand signals.
“I understand it could be innocent. but I also know I would never call over a child for directions and the like.”
A North Wales Police spokesman said: “We have received two recent reports of suspicious activity.
“On February 2 at 1.40pm there was a report that a male driver of a grey three door BMW had called over to two girls on Victoria Road, Bagillt.
“They ran away and there was no contact and no one harmed.
“We were also called to the Ffordd Llwelyn and Ffordd Glyndaw area of Flint, to reports that a male had called three youths over to his car, the children were unharmed.”
