MORE than 20 people have expressed an interest in a new town council job.

An advert for the vacancy of business and regeneration officer was published by Mold Town Council earlier this month.

It comes after Dave Hill announced he is to step down from his position of Mold Town Manager later this year.

The deadline for applications was Friday and Samantha Roberts, clerk to Mold Town Council, said: “We’ve had 22 applications and we’re really positive that we’re going to be able to appoint someone who can work with the town and continue the good work of the town council, supporting the community and ensuring Mold remains a vibrant and thriving place.”

Following a review of roles at the town council, Mr Hill’s successor will be the business and regeneration officer and that support officer Jane Evans is to become lead officer for events and community engagement.

The council is aiming to appoint the new officer in April or May.
