A SPATE of ‘disgusting’ fly tipping has left a community’s green areas an eye-sore.

The rubbish has been dumped on land at the back of a housing estate in Leeswood, and is a green area commonly used by walkers.

Some of the items include black bin bags full of rubbish, broken chairs, scrap metal and even a trampoline, but it is unknown whether it has been left their deliberately or not, particularly with the recent high winds.

There is also a charred patch of grass following what would appear to be a bonfire, with empty cans left strewn.

Steve Jones, Flintshire County Council’s chief officer for Streetscene and Transportation, said: “The fly tip has been reported to Flintshire County Council, investigations are underway, following which the waste will be cleared.

“Flintshire County Council will investigate and remove all reported fly tipping within 24 hours.
