THE POPULAR Welsh television series, FFIT Cymru, is looking for people to be a part of its brand-new series.

Cwmni Da, the production company behind S4C’s FFIT Cymru, are appealing for people from around Wales to apply for the new eight-episode series which is due to air in April 2019.

But you have to be quick, as the closing date for applications is Friday, January 25.

FFIT Cymru is a programme presented by Lisa Gwilym which aims to transform the health, fitness, and lifestyles of five people who are selected as the show’s leaders.

Over the course of seven weeks, the five leaders will work closely with three FFIT Cymru experts; dietician Sioned Quirke, personal trainer Rae Carpenter, and psychologist Dr Ioan Rees.

The five leaders will receive tailor-made diet and fitness plans, as well as professional advice from the three FFIT Cymru specialists to bring a positive change to their lives.

During the last series, the five leaders shed an astonishing 13 stone between them, and over 180 inches from their clothing measurements. But more importantly, the transformation brought about significant improvements in their health.

Before beginning his FFIT Cymru programme, Leon Welsby, from Bridgend, was diabetic, had high blood pressure, and fatty deposits in his liver. But speaking after appearing on the S4C show, Leon said: “I look back at it with special memories. I’m no longer diabetic and not one of my health indicators are close to being high any more. It’s not just weight that I’ve lost, it’s had an effect inside me.

“I think FFIT Cymru saved my life, literally.

“Just go for it. If you’ve reached the point where enough is enough, just go for it and change your life,” he added.

FFIT Cymru also had a wonderful impact on Judith Owen, a mum-of-two from Llanwnda, near Caernarfon, to the extent that she no longer needs an operation that had been arranged for her before the start of the show.
