A PRISONER found dead in his cell on New Year’s Day died of natural causes, it has been revealed.
A post-mortem examination on 57-year-old Michael Quinn found he had suffered a heart attack.
Mr Quinn, a demolition worker from Buckingham Road, Tuebrook, Liverpool, was serving a sentence in HM Berwyn prison in Wrexham.
He was certified dead by a paramedic and identified by a prison officer.
After a brief hearing in Ruthin Joanne Lees, assistant coroner for North Wales East and Central, adjourned the inquest until June 7.
Because of the circumstances the death is being investigated by the Prisons and Probation Ombudsman.
