A BUCKLEY business is opening its doors on Christmas Day to people who have no one to share the special day with.

Pink Daisy Garment Care is hosting afternoon tea for people who will otherwise be celebrating Christmas on their own.

The event takes place inside the dry cleaners' coffee shop between 12pm and 3pm, and the event is completely free of charge, but pre booking is essential.

People can enjoy a choice of turkey, stuffing and cranberry sandwiches, followed by a choice of apple pie and custard, chocolate cake and custard or Christmas pudding and brandy sauce. There is even a mince pie with Christmas pudding ice cream to well and truly wet the appetite.

Tea and coffee will then be followed by the traditional festivities of Christmas crackers, board games or simply a chill and a chat with some soothing piano music in the background.

Avril Davies, owner of Pink Daisy Garment Care, said: ''A few few of our customers have recently lost their long-term partners, and with them having no kids, they will otherwise be on their own on Christmas Day.

''These people are very loyal customers and we owe them this. But even people who haven't been customers are just as welcome, as it's just sad to think people would have to spend such a special family day on their own.''

Those wanting to book in for the event can call 01244 730900. Pink Daisy Garment Care can be found at 10 Mold Road, Buckley, CH7 3HA.
