A HEADTEACHER says his school has been lucky following an attempted burglary last weekend.
Police are appealing for information following the incident on Saturday at around 1am when offenders targeted Ysgol Rhos Helyg in Rhosesmor.
Sgt Neil Hughes, said: “The defendant tried to force entry using a screwdriver but the alarm sounded and they have made their escape.
“We are looking for anyone in the Flintshire area who has had an attempted burglary to come forward.”
Gareth Roberts, headteacher, said: “This was only an attempted burglary so we were lucky. This is good news for us. It’s not like they have broken any glass or had a visual impact on the school.”
Sgt Hughes is urging anyone with information regarding this attempted burglary, or any other suspicious incidents in the Rhosesmor area at that time, to contact the NWP non-emergency phone line on 101, quoting reference number 184000 29700.
